We are beyond grateful for everyone’s support. Thank you! We had a good summer season and a not so bad winter season after all. Obviously not the same as usual, but enough to keep us going. A HUGE thank you for that. So grateful for our truly wonderful team who knuckle down, work exceptionally hard and pull through with huge smiles and warm supportive hearts.

Look at what happened for the 10th year in a row! Best of the Best Traveller’s Choice 2022… This time #8 small stay in the world and #2 in Africa!

I’m sure that you’re all tired of hearing about the GourmetGetaways, but this is a quick thank you to all that joined us. Thank you for your appreciation, your enthusiasm and your support! They were a roaring success and truly assisted us in making it through these very quiet winter months.

In this house, we love cake. I mean, we really love cake. Luckily, we have a 12yr old that loves baking!

The 9th February passed us by fairly recently and being the month of love, after all, made me nostalgic for Cuan & Chandre’s gorgeous Swellendam country wedding. It was literally 2 years in the making and happened 2 years ago! It has taken so long to post because, well, it was busy during that time and then it was 2020… But now is as good a time as any to celebrate love, laughter, connection, happy gatherings of people… and no masks!

Well, that was 2020… We’re still reserving judgement on 2021. How are you feeling about it? The owners of Schoone Oordt are back…
