Our very chilly, very wet Winter is over (thank goodness!) and we’re gearing up for another fabulous season. The blossoms are out, the sun is shining and my word, the countryside around Swellendam is glowing. Truly beautiful. Wish you were here.

Thank you all so much for your lovely support this past year, for either choosing to stay with us, enquiring with us or sending your guests to us and of course, for your kind words. Without you, Schoone Oordt simply wouldn’t be… and we are super grateful!

We’ve been quiet on the news front for a bit because… well, because we’ve been taking extra special care of our guests, we’ve been eagerly awaiting the birth of our new little addition to the Schoone Oordt family – Welcome to the world precious Ivy Nell Walker – and we have been working on our magical new website. Being as particular as we are, this took MUCH longer than expected (isn’t that a bit of a Schoone Oordt trait?!). We’d LOVE to hear what you think…

Thank you to Bruce of Flyinghorse Photography for the incredible new photos, for his fantastic design, but most of all for his long-suffering patience with our minute attention to detail and many many changes. Special mention must go to Wander Bester (our talented chef, manager, handyman, bonsai enthusiast and occasional photographer) for the stunning images of the conservatory at night and the gorgeous Overberg wheat fields on our home page and we simplycannot forget Don, who made the whole thing live!
