The weekend after the cyclists left, we welcomed Bedine Rossouw’s close family and friends to Schoone Oordt. Bedine, along with her mom, dad, sisters and maid of honour spent the day here getting ready for the momentous occasion. There were moments of panic as the heavens opened in the morning and there was a definite chill in the air! The story goes, however, that on any important occasion in Bedine’s life, it rains, so it was hardly surprising, but not terribly pleasant. Towards the afternoon, it stopped and then as she walked down the aisle, the clouds broke and sun came pouring through!
Having them all here was just fantastic. I absolutely love weddings. I love the energy, emotions and love that go into them and I got so excited and teary-eyed along with everybody else.
The actual ceremony and reception was held at a beautiful rustic property just outside of Swellendam called Honeywood Farm. It borders the Grootvaderbosch Nature Reserve and has the most spectacular views. Have a look at their site www.honeywoodfarm.co.za for more info.
Just before she was due to leave, Roy took some pictures on the front steps of our house. As you can see from the first one, Bedine made the most beautiful bride. The second picture is the Rossouw family.
Just lovely, special people.
